Chiang Mai's rainy season makes indoor playgrounds less of a nice-to-have and more of a survival tool. The good news: the city has a genuinely impressive range of them, from café-attached play corners to a full dinosaur theme park. Here's how to pick the right one for the afternoon you actually have.
The big adventure parks
If you want to tire a kid out completely, Xventure Central Chiang Mai is the largest indoor adventure park in the city at 2,200 square meters across 9 zones — slides, trampolines, a ninja course, even a zipline. Note that kids under 120cm need to be accompanied.
AFTER School Chiangmai is another serious option, spread across 2 rai with a pirate-ship climbing structure, rope tunnels, and a separate toddler zone so younger siblings aren't competing with the big kids for space. Hannah Hahn and Little Soul Kids Planet both combine indoor and outdoor play with a real food menu — Hannah Hahn does Thai-Italian, Little Soul leans organic. Coffee Fish takes it further with a mini train, a fishing pond, and a petting farm, which makes it a solid pick for a birthday party rather than just a rainy Tuesday.
Something a bit unusual
If your kid is dinosaur-obsessed, Hidden Village Chiangmai is the only place in the city built around one — more than 20 life-size animated dinosaurs plus a petting village and a treehouse zone. Entry is free under 100cm.
